There's something magical about a mirage. That shimmering vision on the horizon that promises relief from the desert's harsh beauty. It's this powerful imagery that inspired our latest collection, MIRAGE, where we've captured the essence of desert landscapes and translated it into premium leather handbags that understand the modern woman's journey.
Finding Beauty in the Harshest Places
When we began conceptualizing MIRAGE, we were drawn to the idea that some of the world's most stunning beauty emerges from the most challenging environments. The desert, with its vast expanses and unforgiving terrain, creates moments of breathtaking wonder—from the way light fractures through heat waves to the unexpected blooms that appear against all odds.
This collection celebrates that duality: the composed exterior that carries us through our days, and the complex inner world that drives us toward our own personal oasis. Every piece in MIRAGE acknowledges that beneath the surface lies beautiful complexity.
A Palette Born from Earth and Sky
The MIRAGE color story reads like a love letter to the desert itself. We've grounded the collection in rich Umber—those deep, earthy tones that speak to resilience and strength. Eucalyptus brings an unexpected freshness, like discovering life thriving in the most unlikely places, while Desert Rose adds those moments of soft femininity that remind us beauty and strength can coexist perfectly. The Raffia tones tie everything together, whilst adding light to the collection.
Textures That Tell Our Story
This season, we've pushed our craft further than ever before. Our signature bubble leather takes center stage in new Umber pieces. And we've also introduced some exciting new elements showcasing the mastery of texturing techniques—fine braiding and a sophisticated raffia-stitched weave that transforms luxury leather into something that feels both traditional and completely contemporary.
Perhaps most exciting is the expanding offer of silky-soft lamb leather styles. This marks a new direction for us, offering an incredibly tactile experience while maintaining the durability and innovation you expect from SABEN.
Capturing the Vision
We worked with phenomenal Australian photographer Georges Antoni, whose lens perfectly captures the interplay between light and shadow that defines the collection. Working with the talented Charlotte Stokes on styling and Daren Borthwick on hair and makeup, the campaign imagery embodies everything MIRAGE represents—that beautiful space between what appears and what is, between strength and softness, between the journey and the destination.
